Diets For The Kaizen Way Of Life
“The only corner of the universe you can improve lies within you” said a poet of the orient times. True to this only self improvement is worth any effort as this is an effort that cannot be curtailed by anybody but our self.
This is the sentiment that lies at the core of the Japanese concept of Kaizen. Kaizen in most simple terms means constant self improvement. It involves physical, mental, psychological, intellectual and spiritual improvement of one self.
The foremost aspect that Kaizen speaks about is physical discipline and improvement. Although the concept is a management oriented concept it has huge benefits for personal growth as well. Kaizen believes in several small steps that, over time, make a big difference.
Diets are the small steps we are going to talk about. These are steps we take towards making a significant difference to our well being. However the problem with diets is that we try to transform ourselves in a big way without starting small.
This leads us to give up each diet faster than we decided to start one. We intend to embrace fads without really chalking out its practicality. For example an all fruit or all greens diet can be a great way to lead life.
But if a person who is accustomed to rice or wheat as a part of his diet chooses these diets then he is sure to quit in a short while. This is because the body is not accustomed to deprivation from these carbs and sudden deprivation is more difficult to handle as against gradual changes.
Diets need to be planned well and balanced to suit each person’s Body Mass Index (BMI). Concepts such as negative calorie methods, protein methods are very helpful while on a diet.
This is because; the essential nutrients required by the body for survival are supplied by these diets. The gradual addition of exercise to the picture burns the excessive calories and makes a huge difference to the fitness of the person.
Any diet plan must improve health and not dampen it. So make sure you do not overdo any diet or exercise regimen. Instead meet your personal physician and discuss your diet plans before you begin.
This will allow you to plan a gradual alteration of diet routines and thus assist you sustain your diet. A small step followed by another small step by yet another small step in your diet plan will evolve the perfect diet for you. The result will be a well oriented and well groomed you.
